I try to capture in photographs my view of the world...sometimes that is optimistic, sometimes cynical, sometimes just completely baffled, and other times filled with wonder. I seek to create an emotional response.
I approach most of my self-portraits in the same way, but with them I am able to convey more emotion and intimacy. My aim is for them to invoke a true discourse between artist and viewer that forges a greater understanding of what makes us utterly—and sometimes painfully—human.
